Takigakure (滝隠れの里, Takigakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden in a Waterfall") is located in the Land of the Waterfall. In terms of the village's appearance, Takigakure seems to be based on mostly Southeast Asian aesthetics.
History
Shibuki(current leader of the waterfall village)
Takigakure is lead by Shibuki, who seems too much of a coward for the job at first. The host of the seven-tailed beast, the Human Path of Pain and Kakuzu of Akatsuki hailed from this village, prior to his defection due to the harsh and unfair punishment for his failure to assassinate the First Hokage. There were six genin participants (twelve in the anime) from Takigakure in the first part of the Chunin exam, none of whom made it to the third stage of the examination. Little apart from that is known about it at this point. Akatsuki leader Pain's fourth body also came from this village.
Techniques used in the Village
- The ninja of this village seem to specialize in water-based jutsu.
- The village leader processed a type of water called the Hero Water, which was extracted from a rather old tree. It gives the user ten times their ordinary chakra level; however, the strain of its use can prove fatal, similar to steroids.
- This village's most prized forbidden technique is the Earth Grudge Fear, which was taken by Kakuzu at his rebellion, along with the hearts of every elder of the village
